Podcast: Daria Anne interviews me on WriteStream Radio

Daria Anne DiGiovanni is a talented author, ghost-writer, entrepreneur and co-founder of WriteStream Media. She is based in Florida and is an increasingly influential member of the publishing industry. So naturally, I was delighted when she invited me to spend an hour on WriteStream Radio last Tuesday. We talked about my new book, Domino, and other items of cultural interest. If you are cleaning out a closet or painting a room and would like something to entertain you while you work, please stop by and have a listen! Run time is about an hour.

Banned by Big Publishing

A friend, Nick Cole, posted an article about being kicked out of his contract with Harper Collins for daring to express a vaguely un-PC sentiment as part of the antagonist backstory in his new novel, CTRL ALT Revolt! Glad to see this story is blowing up on the internet — it's important. Conservative–libertarian authors have been complaining about this sort of discrimination for decades. An excerpt:

Here’s what happened next. I was not given notes as writers are typically given during the editorial process. I was told by my agent that my editor was upset and “deeply offended” that I had even dared advance this idea. As though I had no right to have such a thought or even game the idea within a science fiction universe. I was immediately removed from the publication schedule which as far as I know is odd and unprecedented, especially for an author who has had both critical and commercial success.

Cole also echos my sentiment that Jeff Bezos (creator of Amazon and Kindle) is an egalitarian and libertarian hero, for creating a truly non-discriminatory place that fosters genuine freedom of expression. Why not skedaddle over to Jeff's place now and pick up a copy of CTRL ALT Revolt!? It's just 99¢ today; what an inexpensive and entertaining way to support the culture rebellion!

Double Book Launch Party in NYC

Yesterday evening, my friend Marina and I held a double book launch party. We gathered with friends at Phebe's Tavern to celebrate two new books – Domino, by me, and Chasing Freedom, by Marina Fontaine. Believe it or not, we did not coordinate or plan on this happening at all, but we released our novels within four days of each other. For me, this is book #3 (but the first one that isn't an indie). For Marina, it's her first and yes, it's an indie. (I had the pleasure of doing a beta read of Chasing Freedom, and I also know Marina worked with at least one editor, so her book is top notch.)

Who is Marina, you ask? She is the person with whom I co-founded the Conservative-Libertarian Fiction Alliance, a closed Facebook group where freedom-loving readers and writers can network in privacy. As of now, the CLFA is closing in on 1,000 members. If you are an aspiring writer, an old pro, or just someone who loves to read and wants to find more authors who see the world the way you do, click here and request to join the group.

Looking for a thrilling, uplifting, near-future American dystopia? Then check out Chasing Freedom by Marina Fontaine.

Or if an anthropomorphic tale of vigilant cats facing an underhanded invasion is more to your taste, go here to check out Domino, by me!

Domino now available at Amazon

Domino is now available for Kindle pre-order. Four reviews have come in so far (from people who voted for Domino's Kindle Scout campaign and thus received a free advance copy) and they are all 5-star. Glad everyone likes it so much!
