I had a lot of things to do today, but I was powerless to escape Maggie's world until the story came to its satisfying and exciting conclusion. If you read this wonderful, absorbing book, take my advice and clear your schedule! It is unlike any other and that is a very good thing. Wow. Hope to read more from this talented author!

New author portrait

Dig my awesome new author portrait! Here's a secret: I shot it myself, in front of the bookcase in my bedroom. I had to fix my hair and powder my nose first, and I think it came out just fine!

Not much else going on at the moment. Night Machines is out at a couple reviewers and I'll post comments as they appear. I also have my next book almost finished in my head and I'm just about ready to start writing it down. I'm hoping to launch it in about a year. (I really like to take my time with revisions, feedback readers, and an editor or two.) I'm not going to spill much else at this point except that it will appeal to both mothers and their YA daughters. And like Night Machines, it will be creepy-realistic-supernatural-spiritual-mysterious, written with basic morals in mind, and satisfying in its conclusion. Now, if I can just find the time to WRITE IT!
