Domino on sale for 99¢

As you may have noticed, I don't post here very often. Mainly I am busy with my dayjob and family, and I am also active running a pro-liberty network for authors and other creatives.

I'm just popping in today to mention that my Kindle Scout-winning and Kindle Press-published book, Domino, is on sale all this week for a mere 99¢ (for the Kindle version). You can purchase it here. Sale ends on Sunday, February 25, 2018.

Happy President's Day! And to all Orthodox and Eastern Christians, a blessed Clean Monday.

Fairfield County LOOK Magazine author profile

Our local premier magazine of social happenings was kind enough to do an author profile of me, including a studio photoshoot and interview. I am thriled with how it came out! Please visit LOOK Magazine to see the whole thing

More great reviews!

Since its release, Domino has been reviewed by some very hgh-profile websites.

HillBuzz.org writes:

A brilliant new book tackles Islamic colonization of the West* in the way that George Orwell’s Animal Farm allegorized the looming threat of communist infiltration and conquest of Europe back in its day.

And Book Horde says:

This book surprised me. I thought I was going to read a charming tale of a barn cat's adventures, and for the first few pages that's what it seemed like. Then it turned into a gripping thriller which had me staying up past midnight to finish it.

Never hurts to be compared to one of the great literary minds of the last century nor to be accused of keeping reviewers up at night with one's gripping writing. Thank you so much for the glowing words!

*Author's note: While Islamic colonization is not the exact theme that I explore in Domino (it's more a symptom of the disease), I can certainly see how it is a reasonable interpretation of the book's narrative. I encourage all readers to approach the book with an open mind and come away with their own interpretation.

The Pagan View

Erin Lale, acquisitions editor at Eternal Press and Damnnation Books, has reviewed Domino for Eternal Haunted Summer, a pagan-themed webzine of "songs & tales."  One of the pleasures of writing is reading about what other people got out of your work. It's true that I intentionally used themes of nature (aka "Nature's God" aka "objective truth") in Domino. I enjoyed Ms. Lale's interpretation:

The good guys, Domino and his friends, stand up for nature’s ways. They embrace their own natures as animals, and in doing so, also stand up for Nature, the balance of life, and the ecosystem threatened by the invasive rat species. When a hawk takes one of Socrates’ followers, Socrates and his rat cronies plot to convert or kill all birds. When a hawk takes a member of Domino’s group, they mourn and move on.

You can read the whole thing here.

This book is, in a word, excellent. It has depth, it does justice to the characters and honors their natures, and it's an enjoyable read. Heavey's writing is clear and approachable. A very good book with a very good message. 5 Stars.
